Lene Bjerre wholesale rugs

With a rug, you can divide your home up into cosy spots of relaxation. A nature colored jute rug underneath your coffee table completes the look of your living room. One placed at the entrance in the hallway is a great way to welcome your guest to your home. A rug should spoil your feet with its soft materials such as polyester, cotton, jute, or viscose yarn.

We have a great passion to search the world for high-quality and sustainable sources of materials for our handmade rugs. As a wholesaler of rugs, we believe that we have a responsibility to find new ways of designing and producing eco-friendly rugs.

High quality and eco-friendly materials

Can a rug be made of recycled plastic bottles? Our rug from the Strielle series is not like anything else – would you believe us if we said that this rug is made of recycled plastic bottles? Well, it is true! We would rather want these plastic bottles in our beautiful rugs instead of it ending up in the ocean.

The eco-friendly polyester fibres are made from recycled plastic bottles. The rug is handwoven by skilled artisans. It is woven in such a way that the rug becomes durable and can last in many years. The Strielle rug is UV-treated for fade resistance. And the best part is: the textile feels as soft under your feet as regular wool!

An OEKO-TEX® certified rug

Our Emory series of OEKO-TEX® certified rugs are the perfect choice for creating coherency in your home decorations. The series is made of viscose yarn. The yarn feels soft under your feet and has almost the same features as cotton. However, viscose can absorb almost twice as much humidity as cotton - it can give your home a better indoor climate.

The weaving technique with viscose yarn in the Emory series means that the rug is very durable. It means that the rug can last for many years - in fact, our producer estimates that it will first begin to be very worn out after about 12 years of usage.

A rug can divide your room into smaller areas - it could, for example, be your own small reading area with a soft rug under an armchair. How will you decorate your own small areas with home decor and the handmade Emory rug?

Jute rugs bring nature into your home

Our Karna jute rugs are 100% handmade by our dedicated suppliers. Each rug has its own unique story to tell as not two pieces will have exactly the same look. The handmade process will give the rug some natural imperfections. It gives the Karna rug some character and charm.

Jute is a natural material. The jute fibre comes from the stem of the jute plant. The fibres are first extracted by retting. The retting process consists of bundling jute stems together and immersing them in slow running water.  After the retting process, the stripping begins for getting the fibres out. The fibres are twisted to heavy yarn and then the sewing by hand of the rugs can begin.
Jute is a rain-fed crop with little need for fertilizer or pesticides, which will avoid exposing the earth to too many chemicals in the production.

"High quality should be created through the use of eco-friendly materials!"
